The High Court of Delhi has released the official vacancy notice for the Senior Personal Assistant and Personal Assistant Examination 2026. This is a golden opportunity for graduates who possess excellent English shorthand and typing skills to secure a prestigious Group-B post in one of India’s most respected High Courts. A total of 150 vacancies (117 Senior Personal Assistant + 33 Personal Assistant) have been announced. Online applications will be accepted from 15 September 2026 to 05 October 2026. Eligible candidates are strongly advised to apply early and prepare thoroughly for the multi-stage selection process.

Essential Educational Qualification (As on 05.10.2026)

• Senior Personal Assistant: Candidate must be a Graduate from a recognised University and must possess a minimum speed of 110 words per minute in English Shorthand and 40 words per minute in English Typewriting on Computer, along with good working knowledge of Computer.
• Personal Assistant: Candidate must be a Graduate from a recognised University and must possess a minimum speed of 100 words per minute in English Shorthand and 40 words per minute in English Typewriting on Computer, along with good working knowledge of Computer.

Only candidates who possess the required qualifications as on the last date of online application (05.10.2026) should apply. Final result of graduation must have been declared on or before the closing date.

Age Limit (As on 01.01.2026)

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 32 years
• Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.01.1994 and not later than 01.01.2008.

Age Relaxation:

• SC/ST: 5 years
• OBC-NCL: 3 years
• PwBD (General/EWS): 10 years
• PwBD (OBC): 13 years
• PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
• Ex-Servicemen: As per Government of India rules

The selection process is multi-stage and every stage is mandatory. Candidates must qualify each stage individually.

For Senior Personal Assistant:

1. Stage-I (Qualifying): English Typing Test of 10 minutes duration to assess minimum speed of 40 w.p.m. (3% mistakes allowed).
2. Stage-II: English Shorthand Test at 110 w.p.m. (Passage of 550 words dictated in 5 minutes; 45 minutes for transcription).
3. Stage-III: Main (Descriptive) Examination.
4. Stage-IV: Interview.

For Personal Assistant: The pattern is similar, with the only major difference being the required shorthand speed of 100 w.p.m. instead of 110 w.p.m.

Important Note: No exemption from Typing Test or Shorthand Test will be granted to any candidate, including PwBD candidates, because of the nature of duties in the High Court. There is no provision for scribe or compensatory time in any stage of the examination.

4. Fill the online application form carefully with accurate personal, educational and contact details.
5. Upload the required scanned documents (photograph, signature, etc.) in the prescribed format.
6. Pay the application fee online through UPI, Net Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card.
7. Submit the form and take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.

Candidates applying for both SPA and PA posts must fill two separate application forms and pay the fee twice.
